Summary:
The incumbent will be a key member of the Business Analyst team supporting the areas of Worksite, US Hispanic, Group International, and Puerto Rico. The primary responsibility of the Business Systems Analyst position is to perform analytical problem solving for developing and modifying applications systems for multiple business areas. This requires an understanding of the company’s business as it pertains to each business area – including specific issues and challenges.
 
The incumbent will collaborate with all levels of the business area and IT management on feasibility of system design, capability, operation, procedures and cost benefits.  The incumbent will consult with all levels of IT technicians and management on system details, design, problems, and areas of improved operation. This requires an understanding of corporate goals and how the goals relate to the business needs of each area.
 
A large portion of the incumbent’s time will be spent with the business area to identify feasible solutions for system design, problem resolution, and prioritization of work as well as assess business needs and plan for the future.   The incumbent must maintain effective communication and a close working relationship with the business area(s).  
 
Job Duties to include the following:
·          Maintaining effective communication channels and a close working relationship with business areas
·          Collaborating with the business area to find solutions to their business needs 
·          Consulting with business and IT personnel on feasibility, capabilities, and problem resolution on current and proposed systems
·          Defining business requirements into logical, economical, and practical system design and specifications. 
·          Assisting business management in designing and implementing business processes and work flow. 
·          Defining test plans with the appropriate business area to thoroughly test the operation of completed programs and linkage to other programs. 
·          Assisting in the preparation of necessary documentation and operating procedures
 
Job Requirements to include the following:
·          Bachelor’s degree plus previous work experience in business/systems analysis and business requirement definition or 2-5 years of Business Analysis experience or 1 year of Information Technology  experience
·          Experience in quality assurance testing, business requirements process and change management control
·          Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office products)
·          Excellent oral and written communication skills
·          Proven customer service skills
·          Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
·          Excellent negotiation and conflict-resolution skills a plus
·          Working knowledge of insurance functions in order to design, develop, and support the business needs on a timely and cost effective basis a plus
·          Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
·          SOX experience is desirable
