NEW ORLEANS—(January 25, 2005)— Pan-American Life announced today the appointment of G. Patrick McGunagle, to the role of executive vice president effective February 1, 2005. As a new member of the executive team, McGunagle assumes responsibility for all activities related to administration, information technology and corporate services. He will also acquire full responsibility for the worksite benefits division and Pan-American Life's broker-dealer subsidiary, Pan-American Financial Advisers (PAFA).

Currently, McGunagle is an independent consultant and founder of GPM Partners LLC, specializing in the Financial Services Sector, based in New York.
Prior to forming GPM Partners LLC, McGunagle served as Senior Vice President of AXA Financial, Executive Vice President for AXA Advisors, LLC, and Chief Administrative Officer for the AXA Service Delivery and Strategic Distribution Services Groups .
McGunagle brings more than 28 years of experience to the insurance industry, where he has held positions in the areas of strategic planning, financial management, project management, and re-engineering initiatives. He has helped ensure the effective execution of e-Business, service delivery and customer service activities, as well as the coordination of technology support.
McGunagle earned a Masters degree in Public Administration, Labor Affairs & International Administration from Harvard University with a Kennedy Fellowship. He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics, Political Science, and Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh, and he studied Political Economy at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He holds Series 7 and 24 licenses with the National Association of Securities Dealers, and is a former member of the Operations Committee of the Securities Industry Association.
