Veteran of Financial Services Industry Joins International Insurance Company
NEW ORLEANS —( October 23, 2007 ) — Pan-American Life, a leading international insurance company providing life insurance, worksite benefits and financial services for more than 95 years, announced today that Mr. Carlos Palomares has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors.
With more than 30 years of management experience in the retail financial services industry, Mr. Palomares has completed global assignments in the United States, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Mr. Palomares currently serves as President of SMC Resources in Miami, Florida, where he provides counsel to senior executives in the consumer financial services field on issues of business strategy, market analysis, and customer and infrastructure management.
Mr. Palomares served as COO of two major financial companies, Capital One FSB and Citibank Latin America Consumer Bank. Additionally, Mr. Palomares served as CFO of Citibank North America Consumer Bank and led Citibank FSB Florida and Maryland/Virginia regions as its President and CEO. Mr. Palomares fulfills many community leadership roles and his board experience includes the Miami Dade County Economic Development Agency (Beacon Council), State of Florida Economic Development Agency (Enterprise Florida), Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, New World Symphony and Florida International University Foundation.
